October 22 2012 Anatole France said, "If 50 million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing." On what subject do you disagree with most people, and why? (Northwestern)

The Bible tells of Noah’s ark and how he was made a fool in front of thousands. It turns out that there actually was a flood and his family were the only ones to survive. This shows us that the thousands of people who teased Noah were rather foolish. Thanks to technology, we can find out the weather using a device the size of our palm. Our world is improving quickly in terms of science and technology. However, today, there remain a few things we are not sure about so that we should continue searching for evidence to make our world a better place.

Seven out of ten people think that they are ugly. Nowadays, teenagers (mostly girls) believe that becoming anorexic or bulimic is cool due to the media. A friend of mine told me that her teacher once asked the students to write a definition of an evil man. Most of them wrote such descriptions as weird smile, doesn’t have a leg or arm, their teeth aren’t straight, has dark clothes on, is always alone, or always carries something suspicious. After they were done the teacher told them that evil results from illness, illness and evil were inextricably linked
Galileo Galilei was the first to believe that the world was round, not flat. Back then most people thought that he was the craziest man on earth. When it was proven that Galileo’s theory was correct, those who ridiculed him regretted their treatment of him. As with Noah’s ark, we see that though the great majority can be wrong.
These are just two examples of how an entire population can be misguided. However, I disagree with most people about the assumption that overweight people are mean and companionless. Obese students are most likely to get bullied in Korean schools.  I consider this unfair and hope that this misconception doesn’t last forever.
