June 25 2012 Is the World Changing for the Better?

If you think back to World War II, you will notice how much our society has changed in terms of fashion, technology, and many other aspects. Scientists have predicted how our world is going to look, or how the galaxy is going to change. However, some things may be not changing for the better. For example, the sky in 1885 in Korea was clear and blue, but today, it shows signs that many factories and vehicles are harming nature. This leads us to the question is the world changing for the better?

The answer may seem a total yes! for those who love technology and cars. Others claim that the world is becoming a better place for us, but not for nature. We are running out of oil and scientists state that there might not be any water left for our next generation. Taking these together, I think the world is changing for the better overall. I conclude this for a few reasons.

Priority constitutes a major reason. Even though our world will be more polluted than now, I think it will be better for humans. You may be able to replace a tree with a seed, but nothing else can replace a human. No human can be replaced. We all have different personalities and none of them will be the exact same as others in this world.

The second reason is us, humans. I wonder how people my age made food or clothes when they didn’t have any machines we have today. Also, how did they manage to always light candles before light bulbs were invented? Most importantly, how hard was it to see your friends and family living on the other side of the world? It would take you months to reach them. Luckily, we live in a world where advanced technology and airplanes exist, so a majority of things that were quite impossible about a hundred years ago are now normal in our world.

Last but not least, consider peace. The last World War happened many decades ago. After that, a few other wars broke out, but the last time the whole world fought was in 1945. This tells us that our world has been peaceful for more than sixty years. Also, more and more countries are starting to agree with one another and we have events where we can become more friendly such as the Olympics and expositions.

All in all, I believe that our world is changing for the better for humans due to technology, inventions, and peace.
